Tiburon

I rode out to Tiburon on Paradise Dr.

Tiburon is home to small harbors, big views, and some nice bike paths.

On the way back I passed another biker and he sped up. We raced for a couple minutes before I pulled away up a climb.

Later he thanked me for getting his "old legs working". Racing can start randomly and it can be hard to resist.

Are we back in Germany?

only the tower remains

Once I matched a stranger pedal for pedal up Mt. Ashland. We both suffered, but neither yielded. At the top he thanked me as well.

The desire to drop/not be dropped can be the needed motivation.

One of the greatest bike showdowns ever:

Whole Foods Repair

Whole Foods on Blithedale has a public bike repair stand.
Heather snaps as I lock.
That awkward looking contraption will hold your bike. The numerous metal cables each hold an invaluable tool for bicycle repair. To the right a pump and even water to rinse your bike. NICE.

We're new to Austin, TX based Whole Foods and skeptical. Sorting produce by distance and this bike repair stand won us over.

Exploratorium

Today was Tanner's belated B-day trip to the Exploratorium.
"The museum of science, art and human perception."

Palace of Fine Arts, home of said museum

I still own the Explorabook I received as a child. I was excited to finally visit.

Afterwards we walked around and Judy took us all out to eat.

As Heather and I rode back over the Golden Gate we watched the sun set.

Point Reyes

This trip to Point Reyes National Seashore had limited visibility (read fog).

Between the five of us we spotted elk, a coyote, rabbits, and birds including the American White Pelican at Abbott's Lagoon.

We threw the disc on the beach.
Dom took quality photos for our wedding promotional materials (save the dates).

The park hosts amazing biological diversity (NPS).We hope to catch an Elephant Seal there this winter!

White Hill Bike Club

I rode with the White Hill Middle School Mountain Bike Club today.

It was a happy coincidence that we crossed paths at the beginning of the ride. I quickly reintroduced myself to Kirk Desmond, PE teacher at White Hill.
a great spot to watch everyone climb/descend single-track
The ride was tons of fun. There were over 20 student riders!
I hope to catch this train as often as possible.
