Mt Tam
I managed to get over Tam regardless of all the holiday eating.
The waterfalls were inspiring after the rain yesterday.
The Tam soil is truly fantastic, it sheds water like a new raincoat.
In the few places that contain mud the consistency is silky.

Traveling the North Bay
A dubious chain of events disturbed my travel between Martinez and Larkspur.
Before Xmas break I left my keys in the apartment.
Heather insisted that I retrieve them and I refused.
Yesterday I returned to the house via Volvo XC to a locked door and no keys.
I salvaged the afternoon by visiting a friend in Sonoma.
I got lost (map) numerous times.
After a night back in Martinez, tail between legs, I returned via:

Walnut Creek
Heather and I rode to Walnut Creek for holiday shopping.
We used the wonderful Canal Trail and Iron Horse Trail. I'm always amazed that more people don't use these 68+ miles of paths.

Phoenix Lake
Happy Solstice Pagans!
Last night was a lunar eclipse. We managed to get a peak through the clouds.
To celebrate the shortest day we rode to Phoenix Lake and hiked.

Fording Mill Valley
I accompanied Kate on the ferry on her way back to NY via BART-SFO.
I returned by bike over GG. It was a quiet morning and between rain storms.
But the water that would hinder my return was already on the ground.
Rain and a +6 ft tide completely covers the Sausalito & Mill Valley bike paths.
Not wanting to turn back, I slowly half-pedaled (as to not submerge my feet) for hundreds of yards. I managed to ford the flooding, just barely escaping the soggy fate of numerous parked cars.
I returned by bike over GG. It was a quiet morning and between rain storms.

Cal Park Hill Tunnel
Lou and I were two of the the first cyclists to ride the Cal Park Hill Tunnel that opened last Friday connecting Larkspur to San Rafael.

Today I used the tunnel in my commute while it was raining. Instead of 30 minutes and 2nd Street, I had an easy ride in half the time.

Mt Tam
I traversed Tam on my Steel Steed today.
I rode to Phoenix Lake, Ross and climbed Eldridge.
Let me tell you, Eldridge is one fine trail.
Its rugged and a perfect steepness.
At the summit it was dark, cold, wet, and windy.
The base was calm and sunny.
Hoo-Koo-E-Koo on the way home and legs are sore, life is good.
