I love my job life.
At the Corte Madera Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee we're making the streets safer, healthier, and bikier.

Tamarancho, Pine Mtn
It's been too long since I tackled the skinny tough trails of Tamarancho.
I get entranced by ocean views and forget the pleasing dark aroma of the pine woods.
roots rocks and a few bridges
I've been getting a little too "Strava'd" but it's really fun to compete against hundreds online.
Tamarancho flow trail sneak peak: not open yet!
I continued up Pine Mountain and set my fastest time coming down its rocky slopes.

AAA Alternative
The American Automobile Association continues to lobby against alternative transportation.
- AAA successfully lobbied to veto the 3-Feet to pass cyclists law in CA twice.
- AAA said reducing mandatory parking requirements in DC was "dangerous"
AAA offers bike service, they replace your bike with a car.
The Better World Club offers to match AAA prices without lobbying against bicycles.

Advocacy
I got pulled over by two police officers on foot along the Corte Madera Creek bike path. They suggested that riding with 2 bikes was suspicious of bike theft and asked for identification.
While I cooperated and thanked them for their interests in preventing bike theft, riding with 2 bikes is not a crime and hardly unusual in places where people bike frequently for transportation. It's easier than it looks.
facial hair, two bikes, clearly stolen
Seriously? A bike is the worst get-away vehicle for a bike thief...
one of those days when everybody seems to hate you...
One of the many reasons why bikers don't need to be taxed is that anyone who pays general taxes already pays for the roads. Car taxes cover only half the price, yet cars do nearly all the damage.

Today I used the over-crossing that connects Coleman Elementary to the rest of San Rafael.
